Such a wonderful chocolatier in the city. Their raspberry chocolate chip cookie was divine, the sourness balances the sweetness. Their spicy chocolate drink is a must have. If you can, get their passion fruit mousse cake with the chocolate shell.

I love the chocolates here! Everything is pretty expensive and fancy, but the hot chocolate is amazing. I've had both the dark chocolate and the milk chocolate, and the dark chocolate is delicious. I found the milk chocolate to be too sweet. The orange hazelnut cake was also delicious. Everything is really chocolatey, so everyone might not like it since it's not overly sugary. The truffles are adorable and unique according to the season. I'm definitely ordering a hot chocolate mix online. The entire store is gorgeous and would be a perfect study spot.

I stopped by to try the chocolate chip cookie and it did not disappoint. It’s rich and delicious. I was also gifted a box of chocolates here and WOW! The flavors were different but amazing. I loved them all. I can’t wait to try more items here.

A fancy chocolatier in River North! This chocolate shop originating from New York offers a variety of sweets, but may be most known for their famous chocolate chip cookie. Unfortunately, I have a tree nut allergy, and the famous Burdick Cookie contain walnuts, but they had a raspberry chocolate chip cookie I ordered instead. Paying over $6 for a single cookie is a bit upsetting, but the taste was not. The cookie was incredibly rich due to the raspberry dark chocolate that was almost like a paste within the cookie. The richness was balanced by the sweetness of added white chocolate chips as well. The cookie had the perfect chew with a crunchy exterior. I’d argue in terms of quality and consistency, it’s a near perfect cookie. When you’re in Chicago, make sure to visit L.A. Burdick for a decadent experience!

LA Burdick Chocolates is a great find in River North if you’re looking for a relaxed place to meet friends without the pressure of a full sit-down restaurant. What really sets this spot apart is the atmosphere. It has a cozy, Parisian café feel that encourages you to slow down—warm, inviting, and ideal for long conversations. It’s the kind of place where you can comfortably linger with a group and not feel rushed out, which is surprisingly hard to find in this area. We focused on their drinking chocolates and pastries, and both were solid. The drinking chocolate selection is impressive, with options like spiced dark chocolate, the Burdick signature, and mocha. You can customize each with dark, milk, or white chocolate, which is a nice touch. Among our group, the spiced dark chocolate was the clear favorite—rich, warming, and well balanced without being overly sweet. For food, we tried a few of their artisanal pastries, including the pecan croissant, the signature Burdick cookie, and the orange hazelnut pastry.
